This is a really quick sketch of the Cloverfield monster. It's funny because while I type this there is a commercial for it on the radio, talk about hype. I've seen what some people have drawn depicting the monster in the film, I didn't see back legs. I don't know if it was the smokeables but I didn't see any supporting back legs. The head looks pretty bad but like I said this was quick. I was still pretty let down by this design. Like I said in my journal, it would work if the monster was 20 feet tall.

if u watch special features u see full bodied Clover. Clover has hind legs and a thinner tail and has really not much of a neck. his feet are mor flat... you're monster is ill and everything but not Clover

dont wanna sound like im moaning or sommat but there were three points in the movie which showed its back legs (i know cos i got the DVD and watched it and paused it then went slide-by-slide each time the monster appeared)
1) the scene where they're heading for the helicopter and it leans over and roars then turns away you do see hind legs as it turns
2)when its standing over Hud as he brings the camera up so we see its face it has cat-like hind legs
3) when Huds carcase corpse or whatever you want to call it falls from its mouth if you slow that scene dow you see one of its back paws (yes paws i thought it looked alot like a scaly paw)
sorry if i sound like im having a go but if you look you can see any way i do like the shading

Yeah we all know what the monster looks like now (thanks to that awesome hasbro toy) but this was done right after I got home from the midnight showing and heavy drinking. Also if you looked through my gallery you'll see I did another Cloverfield pic that is a bit more accurate.
